Closenberg Hotel, Galle
Location:
Old colonial hotel originally built as a sumptuous residence about 150 years ago, furnished with many original antique furniture, surrounded by a splendid tropical garden with many plants and flowers. Closenberg is a Heritage Hotel which is located in the city of Galle and is situated on a promontory in the Galle Harbour. Its location is unique, tranquil and beautiful. 150 km South of the International Airport, elevated on a peninsula at the border of the city of Galle.
Rooms:
Closenberg hotel consists twenty rooms, sixteen of which have been refurbished in 2003 with air conditioning, mini bar, attached baths with hot & cold water and private balconies facing the sea. The four large colonial rooms are situated in the old mansion and transports one to an era of days gone by- an era during which Galle was the focal point of Dutch influence in Sri Lanka.
General:
Large lobby with many pieces of antique furniture, large restaurant, bar, garden bar. To reach the sandy beach, the guests have to descend for about 10 minutes.
