Aditya Beach Villas is Sri Lanka’s newest boutique hotel, set on a hidden stretch of coast between the hedonistic playground of Hikkaduwa and the historic port city of Galle. It offers a unique sense of escape, a sanctuary from the humdrum, the mundane, and maddening. Where others are happy to stroke your senses, Aditya Beach Villas aims to seduce your very soul. You will never feel crowded at Aditya Beach Villas. You will never want for space.
There are twelve suites at Aditya, and they are not numbered. Instead, each is named after one the solar deities of Hindu mythology. This is because each suite is unique in layout and décor, each individually appointed with authentic art and antiques drawn from the region. All are equipped with large-screen TVs, DVD/CD players, minibars, safes, hairdryers, tea & coffee service, his & her sinks, vanity mirrors, and most spectacularly, private plunge pools. Garden Suites have spacious verandas that open onto intimate private gardens. The Ocean Suites have expansive balconies that provide breathtaking ocean vistas. Grand Surya Suite is the ultimate in luxury accommodation – a two-story penthouse with a vast open air terrace overlooking the sea.
The Amal restaurant has views of the beach and offers a selection of both eastern and western cuisine, with seafood a particular strength. Guests may request from the master chef their own choice of menu (subject only to time and availability) and they can eat whenever they choose. In-room dining is another potential delight. The bar, by Sri Lankan standards, has a decent selection of wines and cocktails. Swim in either the large pool or (at safe times of year) on the secluded stretch of tropical beach. To further pamper body and soul, there is an en suite spa service, a well-equipped gym, a yoga room and a library with an eclectic selection of books, music and movies. Mini-courses are offered on such diverse subjects as Sri Lankan cooking and mask making, and the hotel’s own mini moke is available for hire.
