5 Day Golf Tour – 4 Nights 5 Days

With three 18-hole world-class golf courses including two in the hill country and an old-established one in Colombo, Sri Lanka presents a challenge for the ardent golfer. This five day tour includes two days golfing near the old hill country kingdom of Kandy at the Victoria Golf & Country Resort. This is a 40-minute scenic drive from Kandy. This 18-hole championship golf course set in a 209ha site by the Victoria Reservoir was designed to USPGA specifications by golf architect Donald Steele. Stately trees and avenues of coconut palms lend the course an air of maturity although it was established (with par-73 layout) only in 1999. Clubs, etc., can be hired.

This tour includes an opportunity to enjoy the hospitality of two of Sri Lanka’s iconic hotels, the colonial Mount Lavinia on the west coast overlooking the Indian Ocean, and the magnificent riverside Mahaweli Reach Hotel just outside Kandy, as well as a tour of Colombo’s highlights.

DAY 01 – Dinner and overnight stay at Mount Lavinia Hotel
On arrival you will be met by our English speaking Chauffeur Guide and the Airport staff who will offer assistance. Thereafter transfer to Mount Lavinia in comfort where dinner awaits you.

DAY 02 – Dinner and overnight stay at Mahaweli Reach Hotel
After breakfast conduct a city tour including a visit to the Colombo Museum. Visit the landmarks of the commercial capital and also engage in some shopping at any of the shopping malls the city has to offer. Thereafter proceed to Kandy.

DAY 03 – Dinner and overnight stay at Mahaweli Reach Hotel
After breakfast proceed to the Victoria Golf Club for a round of Golf. The cool climate makes this the perfect location to get lost in your game of golf, far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Spend your evenings by the pool or take a gentle walk and take in the sights.

DAY 04 – Dinner and overnight stay at Mount Lavinia Hotel
Spend your 2nd day of golfing at Victoria Golf Club before transferring back to Mount Lavinia for dinner and an over night stay at Mount Lavinia Hotel.

DAY 05 – Safe trip home
After breakfast proceed to the Airport in time for the connecting Flight and a safe trip home.

COLOMBO
Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, sprawls along the west coast some 30 minutes by the new Expressway from the International Airport. Its suburbs are chaotic, clogged with traffic and packed with office and residential buildings but the centre of the city has been renewed with bright new high rise hotels and office blocks, restored and re-painted Edwardian mansions and broad tree lined boulevards.

Colombo seems set to recapture its reputation as the Garden City of Asia because of its parks and playing fields, inspired architecture and spaciousness, air-conditioned shopping malls, high-end restaurants and hotels to suit all budgets. There is no metro system of trains and buses are usually packed with commuters so a good way to explore the city is by one of the ubiquitous, buzzing three wheeler taxis known as ‘tuk tuks.’
