Day 1: Colombo – Pinnawala – Peradeniya – Kandy

Your driver-guide will meet you at any location/ hotel in Colombo around 06:00 am. Leave for Kandy, visiting the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and Peradeniya Botanical Gardens en route. Late evening, full commentary guided tour of Dalada Maligawa, the golden roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of The Buddha.

Day 2: Kandy-Sigiriya-Dambulla-Habarana

Morning at leisure. Check-out from your hotel around 12 noon and leave for Habarana visiting Dambulla Cave Temple and Sigiriya Rock en-route (to avoid the heat, visit both the sites late afternoon).

Documented history of Sri Lanka dated back to 3rd c. B.C.  when the island was among the most advanced and developed nations of the pre-modern world and the seat of an important historical civilization in Asia. The ruined cities of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya extending from 3rd C B.C. to 12c. A.D. record a grandeur unsurpassed.

Day 3: Habarana – Polonnaruwa – Anuradhapura

Check-out after leisurely breakfast and leave for Polonnaruwa and tour the medieaval capital. Evening leave for Anuradhapura and tour the ancient city with your guide. There are many important places to explore, such as Abayagiri and Jethavana Stupas, Ruwanveliseya Dagoba, Samadhi Buddha, Kuttam Pokuna and Sri Maha Bodhi.

Day 4: Anuradhapura – Aukana- Colombo

After leisurely breakfast, check-out from the hotel and depart to visit Aukana Buddha – situated 51 km to the south of Anuradhapura, is the most magnificent undamaged standing Buddha statue, which has a height of more than 40 feet (12 m), has been carved out of a large granite rock face during the 5th century.

You will return back to your hotel in Colombo/ beach at late evening.
