Day 1 :
Around 9:00 am, you will be picked up from any hotel in Colombo and drive to Block-I (Ruhuna)
of Yala National Park, located at the edge of the southern province, bordering the Indian Ocean. Yala National Park has divided into five blocks, as the entire park has protected an area of nearly 130,000 hectares of land. Block-I (Ruhuna) is the most visited section of the Yala National Park located along the sea coast with light forests, scrubs, grasslands, tanks and lagoons. Only Block-I and Block-III are currently opened to the visitors.
Road distance between Block - I (Ruhuna) of Yala National Park from central Colombo is about 258 km and takes around 4 h 30 min drive via Southern expressway. Upon arrival, meet the driver of your pre-booked 4x4WD safari jeep and commence the evening safari excursion into the most famous Block-I of Yala National Park. Travel by bumping roads along dusty tracks, you can spot wildlife roam along the way in their natural habitat; no matter how many wildlife documentaries you’ve seen, nothing can prepare you for the real thing.
As this is a private safari experience, you’ll have your own private driver-guide and a jeep. If you are travelling as a small group or a family, we only allocate a maximum of 6 passengers in a safari jeep, ensuring everyone gets a window seat for excellent wildlife viewing and standing space through the roof hatch when game viewing.
Upon completion, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.
